History of Yoga Training
Yoga is an ancient art and practice that originates from India, it is word that comes from the Sanskrit word you which means to yoke or unify.
As we learn in yoga teacher training, yoga is a science of joining the body, mind and breath to become one, using the breath to flow through the many postures of yoga, but beyond postures yoga is also a practice of complete stillness, and silence of the disturbances running through the mind.
Spiritual Journey
Yoga via a yoga teacher training can become a spiritual journey for some as it allows you to find complete peace with yourself and everything you have. Using the practice of yoga you will see that everyone and everything is the same, we are all unified.
Many people see yoga as an exercise, or just stretching and it can be exactly that if that’s all you want it to be.
Stress
It can be a relaxing way to unwind from a stressful day, it can be away to step away from the hustle and bustle and just breathe, but it can also be so much more if you allow it to be.
Yoga uses breath and stillness to relax the mind completely which allows you to tune into your body.

Healing
To me yoga is multi-use tool, as is can be used in so many ways for so many things. Yoga is a healing practice that clears the mind, helps reduce anxiety, it relieves stress and depressive thoughts.
If you really put the work in, you can completely change your mind set. And with this heal your body in ways you never thought possible.
Yoga in the morning is as good as a strong coffee, as it boosts your energy. And starts your day off feeling refreshed and happy, ready for the day ahead.
Yoga at night completely restores the body and gets it ready for a deep relaxing sleep.
To me yoga is the key to happiness, it’s the key to feeling good in your day to day life.
Favorite
My favourite yoga quote is “Yoga is a light, which once lit, will never dim. The better your practice, the brighter the flame” B.K.S Iyengar.
This is true as once you allow yourself to immerse into yoga, and fully allow your mind and body to be still. And this allow yourself to breath and let your body tell you what it needs from you. This allows your mind to release your constant thoughts of need.
Once you do this you will continue to use this practice throughout the rest of yourself.
The Art
Even if you don’t choose to use yoga as an exercise you will still benefit from the stress relief of yoga, and it will be a practice that you will continue to benefit from as long as you use it.
Yoga is an art, a science, an exercise, a practice, yoga is breath, yoga is peace, happiness and love. Yoga is calm.
