Provincial Museum of Newfoundland and Labrador
In 2005 the museum, along with the Art Gallery of Newfoundland and Labrador and the Provincial Archives of Newfoundland and Labrador, moved into The Rooms. The Rooms is Newfoundland and Labrador’s cultural facility, and is in the downtown area.
Signal Hill
At 160 meters, this stone structure was the initial point in which ships were signaled when entering into the still small and used Harbor St John’s Newfoundland also known as the Narrows. One can walk from the downtown of Saint John’s to the top of the Hill within 1 hour. It’s a steep climb, but provides breathtaking views of the city; as well as the Atlantic Ocean.
