When people think of living a healthy lifestyle, the obvious answers may be having a good diet, or going to the gym. Although those are very useful ways in living a healthy lifestyle, another helpful everyday activity in benefiting you in more ways than one is…Yoga! Yoga has many benefits, especially if you are doing it everyday. Yoga makes you, not only physically fit, but also mentally and emotionally fit as well.
Incorporating yoga into your everyday routine will do wonders for your body. We tend to focus on one specific area of our body when we are at the gym. However, in yoga we hold our positions, strengthening multiple parts of our body at once! If you are passionate with your yoga workout, it will allow you to go deeper into your yoga practice.
I find that one of the best cures for stress and anxiety is using Pranayama breath and meditation. Using Pranayama breathing is something crucial you should consider if you are struggling with anxiety. Yoga postures relax and soften the organs while pranayama releases the stress and improves immunity. Yoga also helps us in being mindful. When we are stressed or anxious, we are usually thinking of a past experience or future scenario. When we are mindful, we focus on the most important time, the present!
“In a study conducted by the Yoga Biomedical Trust in London, 94{131173ed06903c8be65f6a81efeb8c2748771fe1459b6ab57276defad424c2c3} of participants with anxiety were significantly helped by practicing yoga regularly each morning, and 82{131173ed06903c8be65f6a81efeb8c2748771fe1459b6ab57276defad424c2c3} of those with insomnia reported valuable benefits too.” 04 Jan 2016 by Emma Newlyn.
In practicing yoga everyday, we can build and improve our relationships with friends and family. When we are content in our lives, it is easier for us to deal with sensitive relationship matters. When we are feeling good about our body and mind, we can focus on spending quality time and making good memories with our loved ones.
Overall, choosing yoga as a lifestyle is defiantly benefit to all walks of life. All you need is a little bit of space and some deep breaths! One of my favourite yoga quotes is “Go from a human being doing yoga to a human being yoga” Baron Baptiste. Another one is “To grow a garden is to believe in tomorrow” Audrey Hepburn.
