Discover the fine art and science of teaching yoga to young people. Delve into the most up-to-date educational and developmental research and theory, and how it relates to the practice of yoga. In this experiential training, explore developmentally-appropriate yoga practices that can be used to foster physical, cognitive, social, and emotional well-being for preschoolers to adolescents.
This program will introduce you to using poses (asana), breathing exercises (pranayama), mindfulness and meditation practices, relaxation techniques (yoga nidra) and yogic philosophy can be adapted to be engaging and effective for different developmental periods. Learn yoga-influenced songs, stories, games and artwork to inspire young people.
You will also learn how to integrate yoga and academic learning. This training will help you uncover the creative and playful child that lies within you. Connecting with this aspect of yourself can be a joyous and healing journey. It will provide you with unending inspiration, and keep you young in body, mind and spirit.
Kids Yoga Teacher Training allows yoga graduates and teachers the ability specialize in this new and exciting field of yoga. This foundation program covers the basic of teaching yoga from kids at preschool to teens of high school age.

- Comeplete a reaserch paper on a benefits of yoga for a specfic kids group (e.g ADHD, etc)
- Develop and teach 5 classes based on the findings from your research paper
Program Leads
Robert, BA, BA, Primary Instructor ERYT-200
Robert has been practicing yoga since 2003 and has been teaching since 2010.
In his teaching, Robert is most interested in connecting people with the healing aspects of yoga; through movement, breath, and meditation. His classes combine mindfulness of alignment, breath, and a sense of play. Aside to teaching in our yoga teacher training programs, Robert teaches hatha classes, special needs, meditation and sees clients for private yoga sessions.
Lastly, he tries to teach new teachers to find their ‘true voice’ as yoga teachers!
Gretchen, BA, MA (Education), RYT-200
Gretchen began her path to yoga as a gymnastics at the age of 8, she was a national level athlete by the time she was 17 and after several discipline changes became a first grade school teacher. It was teaching and her first exposures to yoga in 2005 that motivated her to leave public school teaching to teach yoga full time. Gretchen teaches Yoga Philosophy, Lifestyle and Ethics for Yoga Teachers; as well as the Business of Yoga. Her mantra is to help every yoga student to find their authentic voice and particular dharma in yoga.
